We're back! Took a little break for the holidays but David ad Andy are back and this week David talks about his road trip to New Mexico where apparently he barely ate. He did enjoy a sandwich at Oak Tree Café in Albuquerque, NM that sounds awesome. Andy takes us to one of his favorite places to eat, Meadow Village Family Restaurant, in Benson, NC where you can always get some fatback and chocolate cake. Then David heads down the street to Güero's Taco Bar in Austin, TX. His decision was tough as to what to order, but in the end he chose wisely, and so did his wife (off the menu that is). In the end, despite the googling, we still don't know what escobeche is, we just know David ate it, and hasn't died yet. Enjoy!

David and Andy are off on another adventure this week as they talk about performing comedy and great places to eat while on the road. This week Andy talks about THE BEST CHEESESTEAK in NC (in his opinion). He takes us to Wilmington, NC to J. Michael's Philly Deli where the Cheesesteaks come swimming in cheese with a fork stabbed in them. Then David takes us back to Sequim, WA at the Oak Table Cafe where there is something different about their pancakes. They won't tell you what it is even though it's printed right there on the menu. Then we discuss splitting meals with your significant other and the issues that arise from doing that. We learn that when David's wife says she wants some sausage, SHE MEANS IT! Enjoy!

This week is a special episode because not only do we have a guest, but it is David's sister and long time listener, EMILY TOBEY! (YEAH!) This week we talk to David and Emily about the great places they ate while on David's comedy run in the Northwest. First it was Aunt Becky's Deli in SeaTac, WA where Emily found out that not everybody serves egg salad hot. Then they DROVE PAST Voodoo Doughnuts and didn't have any. (FOR SHAME!) Next it was Sweetwaters On The River in Eugene, OR where David dined in elegance and Emily dined like it was Chuck E Cheese's. They enjoyed a fabulous breakfast at Studio 1 Cafe also in Eugene where the pancakes were thick and the Huevos were runny. David then took Emily to an old favorite, Jasper's Cafe in Medford, OR. There, David tried the Elk Burger and Emily tried the Black Bean burger. They stopped at Richard's Donuts in Medford which has a creepy website. And Finally they ended their food & comedy trek at Kaleidoscope Pizzeria and Pub where we learned that if you get the Cheese Sticks for an appetizer, they might just be enough to feed an army. There is some slight sound issues but worth it for the laughs. Don't miss our discussion on the pronunciation of Jalapeño. This is a lot of fun. Enjoy!

This episode Andy and David have a blast talking Pizza and Tex Mex . David Starts us out in Roanoke, VA where he took part in the Brew Ha Ha Comedy & Beer Festival. For once he took Andy's recommendation and went to Benny Marconi's to get a slice of pizza that you need two plates just to hold. Then Andy was at DSI in Chapel Hill, NC. He went several blocks down the street to Carrboro, NC to get some wings and Queso at the Armadillo Grill. Finally David talks about being scarred as a youngster at The Brick Oven, only to revisit it 22 years later and realize he likes it, he really likes it. And don't miss Andy rake the fine folks at Pizza Inn through the coals. Lots of laughs are had. Enjoy!

This week, which was last week which may have been two weeks from yesterday if this week is next week, (I'm also confused) the fellas talk smoked pork again, but this time on Andy's Gas Grill. I know, who knew. Then David takes us to Round Rock Texas to a unique sandwich place called The Blind Squirrel. Then both Andy and David rave about about a great place in Raleigh they have both enjoyed and mentioned, Mojoe's Burger Joint. This week David and Andy are on a roll talking about David smoking a Pork Butt on his new grill. They talk pulled pork versus chopping it up. David then tells us about his horrific gig in Santa Cruz, CA that he may or may not have made it to. Then we talk about THE VARSITY in Atlanta, GA. David had a stop over there during his adventure and enjoyed some chili drenched food wile in the Atlanta airport. Andy then takes us to Roanoke, VA where he performed at the Star City Comedy Club which is inside a place called Corned Beef & Co. (He didn't try their food, I'm sure it's awesome, sorry.) However he got some Enormous pizza that was awesome from Benny Marconi's. They don't mess around there. The fellas tell you how to save hundreds of dollars by never letting Jiffy Lube change your air filters and don't miss the talk about the Two/To/Too geniuses Andy overheard at Mojoe's. Enjoy!

This week David and Andy talk about Eating It on stage. Some of there worst gigs and what made them so bad. Then Andy takes us back to Augusta, GA where he found a great place for breakfast where it's so good you'll suck it right out of your teeth at the Sunrise Grill. David then heads down the street from his house to the Galaxy Cafe, (where all the attractive ladies apparently eat), to try a free range chipotle chicken wrap. No one is more shocked than us as to how prepared David is for this episode. It is yet another great time, so give it a listen. Enjoy!

Hey, it's the Comedy and Food podcast. This week David and Andy tell you about some great places to eat that they have discovered while on the road performing comedy. This week Andy was at Goodnight's Comedy Club in Raleigh, NC (his home club) and an owner of several Dickey's Barbecue Pit's brought in some delicious BBQ for Jimmie "JJ" Walker and Andy and the staff. Then David escaped the state of Texas and went to Salt Lake City, Utah where he ate a delicious meal that was also an awesome deal at Hook & Ladder Co Fire Station No. 13. It sounded so good! And as if that wasn't enough, he hit up Nonna's Pizzeria. They provided an incredible Italian meal for yet another deal. The Tobey boys claim that it was Too Much Cheese! But we all know that's BLASPHEMY! There is more talk of possibly making it to Franklin's BBQ in Austin, TX, twice voted best BBQ in America and right near David, yet he's never been. We have a blast this week talking about David trying to ruin a good piece of meat and some great places to eat. First off, David tells us about how to cook and how not to cook a Brisket on the grill. Then it's Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q to the rescue, where everything is delicious and you can drink the sauce it's just that good. Andy hits a fabulous breakfast joint right outside of Johnson City, TN in Jonesborough, TN called Olde Towne Pancake House. You can get a Big Boy Breakfast for a deal that is delicious. Finally Andy has to tell us about the Carswell Bakery, in Rock Hill, SC where even though he's only been there a handful of times and only once a year, they remember him. THE CHEESE RINGS ARE AWESOME! David admits that his wife is a Wizard and Andy has to convince him not to trade his mother in on a newer model. A good time is had as usual. ENJOY!

Then he hit an eclectic burger joint called Burger Up. David shares an odd dental story that leads us to Round Rock, TX and a place called Vertskebap. That reminds Andy of a great place called Zoe's Kitchen you can find all over the east coast and southern states. And finally Andy tells us abouot a great place to eat late in Johnson City, TN, Mid City Grill. We are back after a week of illness and what not and we are back in Nashville. Andy takes us for some Award winning pulled pork BBQ at Peg Leg Porker. Then he thoroughly enjoys his breakfast Biscuit Love where this episode gets its name. David takes the wife on a whirlwind trip to NEW YORK CITY (Where people know what salasa is made from). They tried the Carnegie Deli but they didn't have their act together so they went to Benash Deli and had some huge sandwiches and later had some Street dogs that cost a fortune. And And And It's DAVID'S BIRTHDAY (well it was yesterday when we recorded this.) And be sure and listen to David and I explain to his mom who Five Finger Death Punch is. Enjoy!

David starts us off in the Outer Banks where he finally tried Duck Donuts. Then he gave Colington Pizza a shot and was not disapointed. And finally he hit Outer Bean as he headed to Williamsburg, VA. Andy performed at Zanies in Nashville for the first time and tried numerous places while there. First he hit Mafiaoza's for some really good pizza, and then enjoyed some great breakfast at Athens Family Restaurant. He will tell you about his other Nashville spots during next week's episode. David learns what Gyro meat is for the first time and we discover that David can't seem to remember anything we've recorded much less the names of people he is working with. This week we chat about a few chain restaurants. Brio Tuscan Grille and Wild Wing Cafe. David took the wife for a birthday dinner to Brio Tuscan Grille where there are sheets of fabric "festooned" from the ceiling. Andy took his daughters to Wild Wing Cafe and tells us all about the Jalapeno Cheddar Wings along with the other 33 awesome flavors. We get into a salad dressing discussion at some point much to the surprise of both of us. And we may or may not make fun of TGIFridays. Enjoy!

4 Corners Diner, Jack Allen's Kitchen, Stack'Em High Pancakes, Shorty's Diner & Chanello's Pizza are all talked about on this episode. Andy has a run along the coast of North Carolina into Virginia. First hitting the 4 Corners Diner in Atlantic Beach, then Stack'Em High Pancakes in Kitty Hawk where he eats something called "Red Flannel." Then he heads to Williamsburg, VA for some more great breakfats at Shorty's Diner and some late night eats from Chanello's Pizza. Andy takes us to Duck Donuts who have numerous locations in the OBX as well as one in Cary, NC. He alos takes us to Bob's Grill who's motto is "Eat and Get The Hell Out!" Dave mentions a place that is closed in Vegas (The Spicy Pickle) and Spudnuts, which he wasn't a huge fan of. There's lots of Doughnut talk and David schools us on making pulled pork sliders. Enjoy!

Then David takes us to three places in Colorado Springs, CO while headlining Loonee's Comedy Corner; Rock City Sliders and Coneys, Crazy Otto's Diner and Bambino's. This week is a different kind of episode and so  much fun. We have our very first guest to the podcast, Mr. Steven Roberts. Steven is an hilarious comedian who talked to us about the Supreme Court Ruling on Same Sex Marriage and then educated the crap out of David and Andy on Gay Friendly Restaurants around the country. And he doesn't just name them for that reason, they also have excellent food. He mentions Meridian Pint, Kangaroo Boxing Club, Red Rocks, The Coupe, The Stonewall Inn, Magnolia's, Roscoe's, Cornelia's, Wilde Bar & Restaurant and more. All of them sounded awesome. There is some static that shows up around 6 minutes into the episode I couldn't get rid of but it is completely worth it to listen through. Enjoy!

Andy headed back to the Cleveland, OH area where he tried a new breakfast spot Pat Dees Pub & Eatery and hit Melt Bar & Grilled again in Cleveland after visiting The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! David then takes us to I Heart Pho (pronounced FUH) and Kerbey Lane Cafe, who apparently have redeemed themselves. Andy cooks ribs for the first time and we wonder why we have kids. Enjoy!

We continue talking about our excekllent weekend of comedy & food in Winston Salem, NC. We loved Breakfastime so much we went twice. They have some of THE BEST country fried steak ever. Then we visited the Carolina Ale House in Winston Salem where we enjoyed some Buffaloed Chicken and Fried Cheese Curds. First we hit Dame's Chicken & Waffles in Greensboro on the way there. Then we went to Duke's Restaurant in Winston for a great bereakfast and Little Richard's Lexington BBQ for some great BBQ. Then David and his sister went to Sweet Potatoes while Andy went home for a Polar Bear swim. They ate at one place twice and we'll talk about that spot in Pt 2. of our Winston Salem trip. Enjoy!

This week we start off laughing and almost never stop. We may veer off on some very funny tangents, but eventually we get to the food. This week David takes us to Potbelly's, a nationwide sandwhich shop with a location in Austin, TX. Then David takes us over to Double Dave's Pizzaworks, (no relation), for some awesome pizza buffet and a CHEESESTEAK STROMBOLI! Then Andy takes us to Andy's Cheesesteaks and Cheeseburgers, (Also no relation), now known as Hwy 55 Burgers & Fries. Happy New Year! This week Andy & David talk about a restaurant Andy Liked and 2 that David didn't. Andy takes us to Amedeo's in Raleigh, NC, an institution near NC State where they have some of the best blue cheese dressing EVER! Then David stops in at Zipps in Scottsdale, AZ for some bad service and a good burger. And then David heads over to Cheddar's for a bad experience all around. Andy is disappointed to find out that Cheddar's is not an ALL CHEESE restaurant, and be sure and enjoy the tale of Andy's NYE as he fights for his life against a Kidney Stone.
